Tom Kelly Band was a Swiss rock group around singer Tom Kelly. Formed in 1980, they disbanded after a tour in Germany in 1981. A few gigs in Switzerland and Germany, as well as a few TV appearances at home and abroad were sufficient to make the band a known name in Switzerland within a very short time. Their only LP/CD Breakdown was produced by Tom Kelly and Armand Volker and sold exceptionally well by Swiss standards at the time, with over 15,000 copies to date. The group even scored a hit in Switzerland with the eight-minute epic The Wide Blue Yonder.

From 1994 to 1996, Tom Kelly reappeared on the scene after a good 13 years with Liars Dance and reaped a respectable success with this formation. With Tom Kelly & Friends, Tom Kelly - with changing members - gave sporadic concerts and held studio sessions, some of which were released subsequently.
